Why Military Teens?

Meet Shawn

My friend, Shawn, is 17 and has been through seven, year-long deployments with his dad. Currently his father is deployed to an undisclosed country. Sean helps his mother with three other siblings. Soon his family will move to Japan while he attends college in the U.S.

Military Teens Are Special

Military teens face challenges unique to the military culture including:
  • Parental Deployments
  • Parental Injury or Illness
  • Frequent Moves
  • Academic & Social Challenges
Yet they are also a strategic group to reach. They are cross cultural. Many will enter military service or government work. Some are even from “closed” countries.

Watch this moving video to get an idea of the challenges and blessings of a military teen's life.
